An amusing thought...

So, patent madness. Here is a recent good example of it. The Register says in its article that some rushed-through legislation in the 90's caused all the headaches we see now. This legislation stated that it was permissable to patent business methods and software.

It doesn't seem to be stopped by common-sense rules such as not allowing patents of very generalised things or things that are so fundamental they are in widespread use already.

So.. what about submitting a patent patenting the patent process? Own the IPR to that? Crash the system using its own rules! Something that very much appeals to me, in a sick, twisted and perverted way. Debate, please :)
